 Will I get a meeting space and what meeting space will I get?

 A meeting space is complimentary for each paying group. The largest group on campus always gets the largest meeting space. Keep in mind you may not have the same meeting space from year to year. Please do not make plans for a certain meeting space until you have been assigned one by an MBCR staff member.

 

What are the meal times?

Breakfast begins at 8am, Lunch at 12pm and Dinner at 5pm.  Depending on how many people are on campus groups may be staggered. You will receive your meal time a few weeks before arrival. We ask that everyone in your group come to meal time together. 

 

What if my group wants to provide our own meals?

We recommend taking advantage of the meals provided in your package. We leave a little room for a meal or two on your own. We consistently receive how delicious our food is. It also takes off a lot of pressure from the the group leaders to have to worry about  bringing food and how they are going to prepare meals. It also allows more time to focus on the individuals and group time.  However, if you would not like to have meals with us you, we cannot allow anyone other than MBCR staff to use our kitchen or kitchen equipment as we are DHEC regulated.  The dining hall is used for groups eating our meals provided.

 

Can I adjust how many meals I get in my pacakge?

Yes. It is easy to adjust your package to how many meals your group needs.

 

How Many Golf Carts will I be able to use?

It all depends on how many groups are on campus at the time. There is usually at least 1 available for each group. Only an adult leader with a valid driver's liscense is allowed to drive the golf carts. Each driver must sign a waiver before driving  a golf cart.

 

Am I guaranteed the rooms I requested?

We try and often can accommodate everyone's request but it is not always possible. It is important to get all your group information to us at least 3 weeks before your retreat so we can get your room numbers to you as soon as possible to help you plan your room occupancy accordingly.

 

When is my deposit due?

The deposit is due 3 weeks from the day your group booked. You should receive your agreement within 48 hours of booking. It is important to read through your agreement thoroughly. Your payment schedule and cancellation policy will be printed on it.


Can I increase or decrease in my group numbers?

You can decrease your numbers without penalty until 90 days before your arrival. Decreasing your numbers within the 90 days prior to your arrival date will result in an 50% cancellation charge. Decreasing your numbers within 20 days prior to to your arrival date will result in an 100% cancellation charge.


We recommend you shoot low in your numbers, it is generally pretty easy to add to your numbers depending upon availability. We often have groups add the day before they come.

 

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellation during the 90 days prior to the arrival period, will result in a 50% cancellation charge. A 100% charge will be incurred for cancellations or no shows occurin within 20 days prior to scheduled arrival.

 

Is my deposit refundable?

The deposit NON-REFUNDABLE.

 

What time is check-in and Check-out?

Check-in is at 3pm and check-out is 11am.

 

Could I lose my reservation if I don't get my deposit in on time?

Yes. If we have other groups waiting on that date and your deposit is past due. You can lose your booking. We will contact you first though. After 3 attempts via phone or email we will consider your booking cancelled.

 

 

When does the swimming pool open for the season?

The swimming pool is open from June 1st to September 1st. The pool hours are 9am-11am 1pm to 4pm and 6pm-10pm. There are Pool Monitors but no Lifeguard on duty.

 

What is curfew?

Quiet time is 12 midnight to 6am.

 

How far away is the beach?

The closest beach access is about a 5 minute walk through a residential area.

 

Will there be other groups on campus?

Unless you book the entire retreat center there will more than likely be other groups on campus.  We ask that all groups be kind and courteous to each other.

 

Will other groups be sleeping in the same rooms as my group?

No, we do not make the groups room together. 


Tent/Umbrella use:

North Myrtle Beach- From May 15th through Sept. 15th, Only round umbrellas with a center pole no more than 7 feet, 6 inches tall and with a circular shade no larger than 9 feet in diameter are allowed on the beach.
